What cookies are
Cookies and similar browser storage are small records placed on a device so a website can remember information or perform a requested function. Some are essential to the service; others require permission.
Strictly necessary storage
Auren uses the storage below to provide requested store functions and remember privacy choices. The exact name may include a random WordPress prefix or hash.
| Name or pattern | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
auren-age-confirmed-v1 | Remembers the 18+ research-catalogue acknowledgement on this device | Until browser data is cleared |
auren-cookie-preferences-v1 and auren_marketing_consent | Remember the essential and optional marketing choices so the site can honour them | Up to 180 days, then the site asks again |
woocommerce_items_in_cart and woocommerce_cart_hash | Lets WooCommerce detect and display basket changes | Session |
wp_woocommerce_session_* | Connects the browser to its WooCommerce basket and checkout session | Normally two days |
wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* and wordpress_test_cookie | Account authentication, security and browser compatibility | Session or the selected login period |
| Hosting security, load-balancing or cache identifiers | Secure and reliably route the website request | Session or short operational period set by the host |
These functions cannot reasonably be provided without the storage, or are required to remember a requested privacy choice, and therefore do not rely on marketing consent.
Analytics and marketing
If you accept Marketing measurement, Auren activates the Meta Pixel and matching Conversions API events for PageView, ViewContent, Search, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, AddPaymentInfo and a confirmed paid Purchase. The integration may use _fbp and, after a Meta advert click, _fbc. Meta describes these browser identifiers as lasting up to 90 days.
| Name | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
_fbp | Identifies a browser for consented advertising measurement and attribution | Up to 90 days |
_fbc | Records a Meta advert click identifier when one is present | Up to 90 days |
Consented events may include the event time and name, a privacy-limited Auren page URL, an opaque Event ID, IP address, browser user agent, fbp/fbc, WooCommerce product IDs, quantities, currency and basket or order value where relevant. Available email, telephone, name, city, region, postcode, country and customer ID are normalized and SHA-256 hashed on Auren’s server before matching; the CAPI token stays server-side. Search is sent server-side without the search phrase or query-string URL. Product names, customer notes, health information, date of birth and gender are not sent. Purchase is sent only after WooCommerce confirms payment. Meta applies its own retention under its Business Tools terms and privacy information.
Third-party services
Payment and delivery links may take you to Fena, your selected bank or Royal Mail. Those services control their own websites and may use cookies under their own notices once you visit them. See Fena’s privacy policy and Royal Mail’s privacy and cookie information on its official website. Auren’s Privacy Policy explains the related information sharing.
Your choices
The cookie panel offers Accept all, Essential only and Manage settings after the 18+ acknowledgement. Use “Cookie Settings” in the footer to change or withdraw Marketing measurement at any time. Meta remains blocked before an affirmative choice. Choosing Essential only or later switching Marketing off prevents future Pixel and Conversions API events and removes Auren-domain _fbp/_fbc cookies where present. Browser controls can also delete or block storage, although blocking WooCommerce or WordPress session cookies may stop the basket, checkout or account from working correctly.
Changes and contact
This policy will be updated if the site adds or removes cookie technologies. Questions may be sent to support@aurenlabs.co.uk.
